Mackie and Delilah

I am back from a looong hiatus!

It's been a while since I last posted something on my blog. I have not been the type who gets inspired to write very often, and I am not very good in expressing myself either. BUT, I just want to post an entry because I am soooo excited with the things that I want to do this 2013.

My friends (Danisa, Che, Gepe) and I got hooked to soundcloud last year and we have been recording and posting our recorded songs ever since. I was only using an inexpensive usb mic purchased from CD- King and while I cannot complain about the sound quality, I am not very excited about it either. Then last November, I recorded a song (for the first time!) in a room-turned-to-recording-studio of my friend/officemate's brother. It was not a professional recording studio booth, but I was very impressed with how it was set up. Then an idea came to mind: what if I have the same studio at home? Well, I do not have my own room (boooo), but it cannot prevent me from wanting to have my own studio, right?

And so the quest begins.

The first item I purchased for my dream studio is a Samson C03U usb condenser mic which I fondly call Delilah. I purchased the pop filter and mic stand the following month (did not name them na). However, the laptop I am using is not a very powerful one  - hence the sound quality produced is not very soundcloud-worthy. :P

And that's when Mackie arrived. Yes, he is a Macbook Pro.

I am quite disappointed that I will not be able to use my Adobe Audition using Mackie, but I think Garage Band has a potential. I will watch 3 video tutorials once this post is done.

So there... I really am looking forward to posting my first recorded song using Mackie and Delilah. Will definitely post the link here once done.

ps. i still need a reference headphones pala.
