what elphaba said

well, if that's love, it comes at much too high a cost.

random thoughts again

when will you stop hurting, heart?
you've been so strong all this time.
when will you stop hurting?

boys, don't be annoyed that we argue with you all the time...
start wondering when we don't argue anymore - because that means we've just given up hope and there's nothing else to fight for.

untitled

lately i've been hunted by a thought.
it started as a harmless discovery that transcended into something scary, threatening even, to me.
and this thought runs in my mind, day and night - until my mind gets so weak in the struggle to keep it at bay that only by sleeping can i escape.

sometimes, being a thinker is a curse.
you generate thoughts that the only person who believes they are true is you.

Mackie and Delilah

I am back from a looong hiatus!

It's been a while since I last posted something on my blog. I have not been the type who gets inspired to write very often, and I am not very good in expressing myself either. BUT, I just want to post an entry because I am soooo excited with the things that I want to do this 2013.

My friends (Danisa, Che, Gepe) and I got hooked to soundcloud last year and we have been recording and posting our recorded songs ever since. I was only using an inexpensive usb mic purchased from CD- King and while I cannot complain about the sound quality, I am not very excited about it either. Then last November, I recorded a song (for the first time!) in a room-turned-to-recording-studio of my friend/officemate's brother. It was not a professional recording studio booth, but I was very impressed with how it was set up. Then an idea came to mind: what if I have the same studio at home? Well, I do not have my own room (boooo), but it cannot prevent me from wanting to have my own studio, right?

And so the quest begins.

The first item I purchased for my dream studio is a Samson C03U usb condenser mic which I fondly call Delilah. I purchased the pop filter and mic stand the following month (did not name them na). However, the laptop I am using is not a very powerful one  - hence the sound quality produced is not very soundcloud-worthy. :P

And that's when Mackie arrived. Yes, he is a Macbook Pro.

I am quite disappointed that I will not be able to use my Adobe Audition using Mackie, but I think Garage Band has a potential. I will watch 3 video tutorials once this post is done.

So there... I really am looking forward to posting my first recorded song using Mackie and Delilah. Will definitely post the link here once done.

ps. i still need a reference headphones pala.

in love with reading ... again

It's a shame that my love for reading was lost for quite sometime. Must be the effect of all those techie stuff that monopolize every nook and cranny of those capitalist-infested establishments. But I am happy to say that (I believe) my passion for things told and written is now back. :D Thanks to my ever-loving (and geeky) bf for always dragging me to bookstores every time we go out.

My constant companions for the past few days are Jane Eyre and Mr Rochester, Catherine and Heathcliff, and Liz Bennet and Mr Darcy. Can you guess what particular novel does each pair of characters belong to? :D

A while ago I was able to purchase 3 novels from National Bookstore for Php 90. I still have a list of books that I intend to buy, if my budget permits:

- Max Lucado books (Traveling Light, Facing Your Giant, Next-Door Savior)

- Hunger Games trilogy

- travel books

- Jane Austen books

And before I forget, I need to buy a bookshelf!!!
